“History” is created by whatever records were left behind by chance, by fortune, or by a deliberate decision by someone who deemed certain events (or version of events) as important. Here, I create my own mini-histories. Perhaps these tales of food experiences and photographic records of them have no bearings on political events or economic ups and downs.
Yet there must be some record of the sensual pleasures of the aroma of freshly baked bread, the tart popping of a ripe, dark red cherry when you bite into its soft flesh, or the wonderful juxtaposition of textures from the delicate shell to the sweet cream-fillings of a well-made french macaron. As a pursuer of aesthetics and a bit of a hedonist, I hope to translate some sense of flavors and smells through to your computer screen.
